"Personalized" has become one of those words that shows up on every agency website and means almost nothing by default. It's worth being specific about what it should actually mean.
What it isn't
Personalization isn't a template with your logo dropped in, or a generic system with your company name in the header. That's customization at the surface level while the underlying structure stays identical to every other client.
What it actually means
- The pipeline stages are named the way your team already talks about the work
- Fields exist for the specific things your business tracks that a generic system wouldn't have
- Automations trigger off events specific to your process, not a generic "new lead" template
A simple way to check
Ask what would need to change if the system were handed to a completely different type of business tomorrow. If the honest answer is "almost nothing, we'd just relabel a few fields," it was never actually personalized — it was a template with a coat of paint.
